He was born in Brussels in 1879 and by his late teens was already gaining a reputation as an artist of note.  In 1906 he exhibited in an important exhibition of pastels in Antwerp and later at the Exposition Universelle de Bruxelles.

A frequent exhibitor in many of the private galleries in Brussels and Ghent his work was much admired and keenly collected.  The majority of his views were taken around Brussels and in the Kempen area of Belgium. This example depicts a view in Paris, can be dated to the years shortly before World War I and is a typical example of his work in Pastels. Stanislas Warnie would enjoy a long and illustrious career Before his death in 1958.
